My Story
When I stumbled upon Scentsy back in 2016, I never thought it’d lead me to where I am now.
Back in August of 2016 I was in a very deep depression over the unexpected passing of my father. I quit my full time job and was very deep in the grieving process over losing someone so incredibly close to me. One day as I was scrolling Instagram, I came across a random post of a beautiful warmer. So I commented on how beautiful it was and almost instantly got a response from the poster. I had recently just thrown out my warmer from a big box company since it had literally just burnt my arm when I got too close to it and I didn’t want it in the house when I had a senior cat who could have been injured as well. The Scentsy Consultant was incredibly kind and informative. I placed my first order THAT DAY. With a SECOND ORDER a week later! Two weeks after that I joined Scentsy! I instantly fell in love with the products and couldn’t get enough of them! I originally joined Scentsy to make money back off my own purchases but it quickly became clear that EVERYONE loves Scentsy! For the next three years I worked it as a side business while focusing on building my family.
By 2019, I was separated from my husband, had a 2 year old son and was desperately trying to figure out my next steps. That’s when I decided to stop selling Scentsy and instead open an LLC. I created handcrafted gemstone jewelry and was honestly loving it. I worked that business from the ground up; creating, crafting, marketing, attending events and having an online store. But, it was too much for me, energetically. I hit massive burnout mode in July 2022 and eventually closed my business’ doors in October 2022. While making such a big decision to be done with handcrafting products I took a step back to reevaluate what I would actually love to do with my life. What would really make me happy? Scentsy was the only answer that came to mind. The amount of fun I had while being a Scentsy consultant was definitely top tier. The people I met, the community. Everything about Scentsy, I truly loved. Plus, the ability to continue to work from home, make my own hours, be my own boss was DEFINITELY what I needed and wanted in my life. I can’t imagine going back to a 9-5. And I will forever be grateful for what this company, Scentsy, has allowed me to make a reality.
I have the ability to homeschool my son. I don’t have to worry about who would care for him when he inevitably got sick & I didn't have any 'sick days' to use or couldn't afford to miss work. I no longer worry and agonize over missing out on him growing up. I get to BE THERE for him. Which has always been my dream if I became a mother. That I wouldn’t miss out on their childhoods like my parents did with me, because they were always working, always doing whatever they could to put food on the table.
I'm a single momma trying to continue to be the best mom I can be, in a world that insists you put work before family. I do not believe that should be our norm. I do not want that for my family.
